Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Host Europe GmbH. When you open a page, the server processes technical data that your browser sends: IP address, date and time of access, the address requested, referrer URL, amount of data transferred, status code, browser and operating system.

This data is processed to deliver the website and to keep it secure, for example to detect attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is the secure and stable operation of the website. The log files are stored only for as long as this purpose requires and are then deleted automatically by the host. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the host.

Google Analytics

If you agree, this website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). Without your consent, Google Analytics is not loaded and no data is sent to Google.

With your consent, Google Analytics sets cookies (names beginning with _ga) and records how the website is used: pages viewed, time and duration of the visit, referring website, browser, operating system, device type, screen resolution and approximate location. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off. The data is used to produce aggregated reports about the use of this website.

Google may also process the data on servers in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has adopted an adequacy decision.

The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via “Privacy settings” at the bottom of every page; the analytics cookies are then deleted. Your choice itself is stored in your browser’s local storage (airotic-consent), which is technically necessary to remember it.

The cookies expire after up to two years. Event data in Google Analytics is deleted automatically after 14 months. More information: Google Privacy Policy.

Contact by email

If you send me an email, I process the information you provide in order to answer your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for requests related to a contract. The data is deleted once your request has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing (Art. 21). To exercise these rights, contact me at the address above.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example in the place where you live or the authority responsible for me.
